ABOUT / HOW WE REVIEW

How We Review

Every score on this site is built from the same evidence: published owner and installer reports, manufacturer specifications, and current retail pricing — weighed against a fixed four-dimension rubric. No brand sees a review before publication. None can pay for a score.

The four dimensions

01 — CRAFT & TEXTURE

Weave density and evenness, selvage finishing, backing quality, and how seams read once installed.

02 — COLOR & PATTERN RANGE

Breadth and depth of the line: colorways per texture, dye richness, and consistency between sample and bolt.

03 — PRICE & VALUE

What you get per dollar against the rest of the category — including channel markup a retail buyer actually pays.

04 — SAMPLING & SERVICE

Sample cost and speed, dye-lot labeling, reorder reliability, and how the brand handles problems.

THE MATH

Each dimension is scored 1–10 in half-point steps. The overall score is the simple average of the four, rounded to one decimal. No weighting, no editorial overrides, no “bonus points.” If the math says 7.5, the review says 7.5.

How we use community sources

The heart of every review is a structured read of how a product actually performs for the people who live with it — weave consistency, how seams age, dye-lot reliability, service experiences — synthesized from owner and installer reports on Reddit and Houzz. We pair that with each maker’s published specifications and current retail pricing. Synthesized reports are always labeled as such, and a manufacturer’s claim is always attributed to the manufacturer — never presented as our own first-hand testing.

How we make money

This site runs no display ads and no affiliate links to the brands we review. Our only commercial relationship is with FactoryDirectBox, a sourcing service: when a reader requests a factory-direct quote through our links, we may earn a referral fee. Those links appear only in clearly labeled sourcing boxes — never inside scores, rankings, or comparisons.

WHAT WE DON’T DO

×Accept free samples, payment, or early access from reviewed brands
×Let any commercial partner appear in rankings or comparison tables
×Present synthesized owner reports, or a maker’s own claims, as our first-hand testing
